Summer 2012!  I realized after talking with a few friends recently, that I haven't posted any DONE DONE photos of my gorgeous new "home".  Here are a few of my bedroom and living room.  I will post more of my finished bath, kitchen and spare room soon.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011 - Inching closer to the end...bedroom closet is installed

So close...but still not complete.  Other than the granite, the contractors will be complete with the project on Friday.  The dishwasher, microwave and the ice maker were all hooked up yesterday.  The washing machine and dryer were unpacked and set into their new homes.  The gas line for the dryer will be connected tomorrow.  The biggest thing today was the installation of my new bedroom closet.  Thanks to Closet Make-Overs by Tom Ferri (www.closetsbytom.com), my pink walls now house shelves, cubbies, drawers and rods.

Sunday, November 6, 2011 - down the home stretch....

The rest of the laminate floor was laid by the end of Friday afternoon.  Isn't it just GORG?  (a little dusty still...) but gorgeous!

I can't believe we are heading down the home stretch...all the work should be completed and even my counter tops installed by Thanksgiving.  I'm going to schedule my Pod to get delivered next weekend....you know what that means...yes boys and girls...I will finally be reunited with my sleep number bed...oh how I've missed thee.... :)

Thursday, November 3, 2011 - The flooring is started...

Rhodes Carpet began my flooring installation today.  My bedroom and closet are complete.  Half of my living area was completed as well before they ran out of the "wood" that was dropped off yesterday and acclimated already.  The remaining laminate will be completed tomorrow, vinyl will be installed under my washer and dryer, and carpet will be installed in the back "bonus" room and on the stairs.

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 - Flooring to be installed tomorrow!

I can't believe how fast and how beautiful the space is looking and turning into my dream home!  I just love it!  I've been slacking on my posts and need to give lots of updates.

Items installed/completed:

• entry french doors installed - replacing original sliding glass doors
• Crown molding in bedroom, living room, kitchen and hallway

Wednesday, October 26, 2011 - Bead-board installed in bathroom!

Busy workers downstairs the last several days.  Today they installed and hung all the wooden doors and trim.  They also cut and nailed up the casings around the windows.  My bedroom doors are glass french doors and they are waiting to install any breakable items until after the heavy work is completed.  The bead-board was cut and glued to the wallboard.  They put on the cap and the baseboards too.  All of the ceiling grids are complete and we just had to decide where to place all the ceiling lights...which isn't exactly easy when you have to take the grid system into account.  Lights should start going in on Friday and my fireplace surround and mantel will be built as well.  Tomorrow they will patch the seams, nail holes and paint it the trim color I have in the rest of the house.

Monday, October 24, 2011 - Kitchen cabinets installed!

Big day...huge day in fact...kitchen cabinets installed and Sears delivered my refrigerator.  Most of the ceiling grids are installed too.  There were 4 contractors here today and they were busy!

Sears arrived a little late but they did call and warn me.  I was so impressed with the drivers mad skills handling the truck on my little lane.  We had to take the sliding glass door off and they had to take the handles off the fridge and only after that did they get it gingerly into place and it's new home between my 2 18" pantry cabinets with slide out shelves.  These delivery men carried the fridge from my lane and around back to my basement with just the shoulder dolly.  Wow...I was impressed again!  They definitely earned my $70 delivery charge as far as I'm concerned.

I want crown molding in my living area and my bedroom...but how to hang it when you have a suspended ceiling?  Contractors said, no problem...they hung 1x2 around the ceiling and the molding will be attached to the 1x2.  The track for the ceiling tiles are installed above the 1x2.
